![]() A decent cap that will probably never see the light of day in an actual campaign. change that 'once per day' to 'resets on a long rest' and it's fine.ĭestined for Greatness is pretty sweet - but given it requires one of your singular 8th or 9th level spells, it's pretty costly. I'd never use it personally, but otherwise, no harm, no foul.ĭestiny of the Ill Fated reminds us all that the creator is coming from a pre-5E mindset. Not sure of the point of lingering magic, but it's no more powerful than metamagic, and it comes online at 10th, with a chance at blowing up in your face. I'd say 11th and 17th, to be on par with similar abilities. Boosting damage output at higher levels might need some tweaking of where to gain those ups. ![]() Even starting at 5th, like I recommend, it's literally on par with Shillelagh. I like Charged Strike - I think the damage is on par with similar abilities. This is just poor research on the creators part. ![]() should really be a half caster, imo) than the EK - but all casters with martial capability get EA at 6th. I get this is slightly more arcane (ok, 9 levels of casting. ![]() 'Nuff said.Įxtra Attack and Charged Strike should swap levels. The rest of Fate's Protection is pretty meh - how often are you throwing fireballs at your feet?ĭestiny - all three are OP, broken to hell and need to be scrapped as written. Besides, the DCs to fail are ridiculously low for a class with Con save prof, that it'll likely not happen often enough to warrant a class feature that overcomes it's own problem. The base is almost balanced - you're hurting for spells even more than the sorcerer (a primary complaint of the class when revealed).įate's Protection interaction with exhaustion is OP and has no basis to exist - there's nothing remotely close to it and since it's curing something that only occurs due to Blade Magic cast from 6th level slots, I'd strip it. Just go with my general rule: "if it's from D&D Wiki, it's not allowed." If the first archetype is that bad (on top of the slightly overpowered general class features), then I'm not even going to read the other two archetypes. "You can keep making attacks until you hit as a bonus action" and "you can wield heavy bladed weapons in one hand as a light finessible weapon" are just so rediculous it's patentable. Maybe as 17th?Īrchetypes: oh my god that's ridiculous. I'm not very good at judging the higher level abilities, but being able to change the target of an evocation spell to you or cause it to go off before it reaches its target as a reaction seems a over the top. Adding additional magic damage to your weapon when it's charged seems a little powerful. (EDIT: Derro get advantage on all spell saves - that's where I've seen it.) Doesn't seem too bad, but probably want to ditch it in light of the other abilities being stronger. I feel like I've seen something like that somewhere. Gaining advantage on all magic saves if you cast a spell feels familiar. Increase damage but decrease number of targets. Blade Magic is a lot like the Magus in Pathfinder - you charge your weapon with the spell and the target of your weapon attack also gets the spell. Unsure about Extra Attack with that spell progression. I'd drop it down to ranger status.Ībilities don't seem too bad. Spells known is stronger than a ranger but weaker than a sorc. Same spell progression as a cleric similar armor proficiencies.
